A workshop was conducted in the Ministry of Telecommunications and IT on 27 March 2011 . The workshop was conducted to identify the skills needed to implement and deploy an e-government framework in Palestine, focusing on the interoperability, security, and legal needs. The participants include key people from the Palestinian governmental and private sectors in addition to academia from the PalGov project partner universities. The goal of the workshop was to study and discuss the skills and know-how needed to implement and deploy the e-government framework in consultation with the governmental and private sectors, which aims to define a set of topics for the training program of the Palestinian e-Governmant Academy, as part of the PalGov project.
The workshop started with presenting a detailed overview on E-government Architecture, followed by presenting the suggested interoperability, security, and legal informatics tutorials with thorough and deep discussion and input from the governmental and private sectors attendees.
It is also important to mention that this workshop took place after a series of intensive interviews and discussions with the governmental and private sectors which were conducted in order to observe the existing skills and knowledge of Palestinian government and private sector employees and deduce the missing skills and knowledge in the Palestinian governmental and private sectors in view of the proposed e-government architecture and framework.
